Business Description
|
Val di Suga, the property in Montalcino is composed of 100 hectares, 55 of which are vineyards. One of the keys to making great Brunello, as it is in any wine region, is the vineyards, but more specifically, having vineyards in each of the major growing areas of the township of Brunello. These different vineyards, with varied expositions, placed on differing soils, bring an added level of complexity to the wine which has already yielded great results. Combining this greater level of complexity of the raw material with the improvements in the cellar has brought Val di Suga to a new level. After careful hand picking and prior to the meticulous fermentation, the grapes undergo a strict selection, ruling out any blemished or underripe grapes. The winemaking care is no less stringent Without participating in the rejection of tradition which seems to be sweeping the wine world, the winemaking team, led by chief enologist and winemaker Mario Calzolari, has managed to blend tradition and technology to produce a wine in keeping with the principles of the Angelini philosophy of excellence.
